Does your personal resume have the a couple of criteria all profiting resumes share? To be a former recruiter and today career coach I've come across thousands of resumes throughout my career. For any career level, by student intern to rainmaking lover, there are specific nuances that can make winning resumes stick out. However, at all grades, winning resumes usually demonstrate these three criteria:

No slipups. This means no typos, no spelling problems, and no grammatical blunders. Watch out for homonyms that claimed get caught by the simple spell-check. You have on eat?clients (with some luck!). Check proper manufacturers for exact punctuation (e.g., PowerPoint, not Powerpoint and / or Power Point).


Quantitative results. If you sold industry, how much in gains exactly? If you spend less, by how much on dollars or proportion? If you managed the division, how large was it by either variety of staff or financial budget or both? Sometimes non-profits or public arena jobs have real metrics you can report. If you solicited grants, what amount of grant money did you raise? If you sorted a conference, how big was the audience, budget, professional list?

Compelling employment progression. The cover letter should tell your message, and the ideal career story has a successful ending. Your most current job should be the pinnacle of your career to this point. Your past work opportunities should show the upward trajectory, when considering responsibility and/or expertise. Obviously, those starting out perhaps have only junior occupations on the resume, nonetheless each successive position should show increase some area.
